I stumbled upon Maple Street Biscuit Company during a pit-stop in Tallahassee, and it was definitely worth the detour off I-10. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was steady and the place was well-kept. My personal favorite was the fresh-squeezed orange juice. The grit bowl was a bit lukewarm and the grits somewhat lumpy, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast. The dining area was spacious with additional seating outside. The B2 jam really stood out, it was simply the best I've ever had with eggs. The biscuits, hash browns, and bacon were top-notch. I just wish I'd discovered this gem on my previous road trips. It was our first visit and we were highly impressed. The ambiance was cheerful and the staff friendly. The serve-yourself coffee was a nice touch. Before heading back on the road, we had a quick brunch that included the Risky Biscuit, a Plain Waffle, and The Farmer. All were delicious! What made the service more enjoyable was the question of the day, it added a personal touch to the experience. I look forward to returning to this place on my next trip. I'm partial to the skillet meals, but my wife swears by their eggs Benedict. One of the stand-out items has to be the cinnamon roll pancake - it's no laughing matter. It's worth noting that seating is limited, so it's best to get there early, especially on weekends. Our order consisted of avocado toast, French toast, eggs Benedict, and pancakes. All of which were delicious despite the slightly longer wait time. Our server, while seeming a bit stretched thin, maintained a pleasant demeanor throughout our visit. We also tried the meat lovers omelette, another cinnamon roll, and a skillet. While the food wasn't groundbreaking or vastly different from other similar establishments, it was consistently good. There were a few minor hiccups during our visit - I received a raw biscuit that was replaced after I had finished my meal and the pancakes were denser than preferred due to over-mixing of the batter. The French toast was fine albeit it could do with a bit more flavor. The iced coffee we ordered had more ice than requested, and the staff's attempt to rectify this resulted in a glass three quarters full. I can't say enough good things about Woodchuck's Cafe Inc in Tallahassee! Yes, you've got your over the top burger selections, and even a build-your-own option, all very reasonably priced. I have yet to encounter a burger combo that hasn't exceeded expectations. The only minor downside is that you can't get your burger medium rare - only medium or higher. But that's not enough to deter me - I'd rate this place 4.9998 stars for sure! The onion rings are also a must-try. What really stands out here is the superb customer service. The wait staff are all incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to ensure your meal is prepared to your satisfaction. This isn't a place to visit on a light stomach - come hungry! Woodchuck's Cafe is a true local gem, offering not just fantastic burgers, but also a great selection of cold beers, mimosas and to-die-for desserts. The cheeseburger and the Dead Texan are particularly noteworthy. They also have a unique Brown Bag Special, which includes bacon and beer. The food at Woodchuck's simply never disappoints. Every dish is delightful in its own right, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The coffee here is always just the right temperature as well. I recently found myself searching for a local breakfast spot in Tallahassee and came across Uptown Cafe. What a joy it was to dine there! The overall atmosphere has a warm, homely feel and the service was top-notch. Our food was delivered quickly, piping hot and full of flavor. Canopy Road Cafe is my go-to spot for a satisfying breakfast or lunch in Tallahassee. I have to say, Kool Beanz Cafe in Tallahassee always serves up a good meal. I particularly enjoyed the honey ginger glazed salmon, it was absolutely amazing. Accompanied by a kimchi pancake, the flavors were simply excellent. Had to go for the tuna too - truly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Tallahassee might not be the most exciting city, but eating at this place for two consecutive nights made my stay worthwhile. The variety on the menu is impressive and the chefs are clearly talented. Special shout out to the pastry chef, her creations are top-notch! One little downside was that the restaurant was a bit loud and warmer than comfortable on this particular visit. The air conditioning could definitely use some improvement. However, the staff was knowledgeable and attentive, making up for this slight discomfort. This was my first visit to Kool Beanz and, despite a minor hiccup with slow service and a forgotten to-go bag, I must say it was a pretty cool spot. The tuna sandwich with potatoes hit the spot, and the lentil soup was quite tasty. Despite the service glitch, the staff was apologetic and it didn't sour my overall experience. In conclusion, I will definitely be returning to try more of their food offerings - their dessert alone is worth another visit! Despite a few minor setbacks, Kool Beanz Cafe is a gem in Tallahassee.

My brunch experience at Canopy Road Café was definitely worth repeating. Our server, Nikia, was nothing short of excellent - sweet, attentive, and stunning to boot. The food was decently priced, and the Nashville Hot Benedict I had was tasty, although the chicken was a bit small and not as spicy as I expected. Nonetheless, if you enjoy a Nashville Hot type flavor, it would probably be to your liking. The restaurant itself has a stunning atmosphere and decor, creating a vibrant vibe that really enriched our dining experience. The staff members were all uniformly friendly and accommodating, even as we arrived fairly late. Impressively, there were open tables on a Sunday morning, which was a pleasant surprise. Our orders - including an omelet, the Alaskan Benedict and the Canopy Road Special - were delivered swiftly and cooked to perfection. The kitchen staff deserves a shout out for their superb skills. The only element that could use some attention is the conflicting music from the dining area and the kitchen. It was a bit confusing to have two different music genres playing simultaneously. Even though the café is a bit small, we've never had a long wait due to their fast service. My daughter adores the Funky Monkey pancake - they get the banana ratio just right. I often opt for the eggs Benedict with hash browns, swapping Canadian bacon for spinach, as I don't consume meat. If you're in the mood for something sweet, they offer delightful French toast and pancakes with fun, sweet themes. Their coffee is top-notch and comes with flavored creamers, which is a lovely touch. The prices are also quite reasonable. I remember one time, my friend had an Italian Avocado toast and I went for a Cobb salad. The food was superb and our server, Marci, was fantastic - prompt, friendly, and helpful. Despite the place being completely packed and with limited outdoor seating, the food came quickly. However, I must mention that ordering takeout from their website was not a pleasant experience. The order couldn't be located and the staff wasn't very helpful. They kept saying it would be ready in 5 minutes, but then had to check my order on my phone. Because of this, I would not be ordering takeout from this location again. The in-dining experience, however, makes up for this. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff is attentive and the food comes out quickly. On one occasion, I was initially given home fries instead of fruit, but it was an understandable mistake as I had ordered home fries initially but quickly changed my mind. I'm sure they would have fixed it, but I didn't want to wait. The location is small, but exudes a friendly, family-run feel. Despite its size, they serve the best kids meals and the Eggs Benedict is always perfect. My only gripe would be the single bathroom, although the line always moves quickly. I'd definitely return, but probably try a different location next time for a more comfortable experience, especially if one of us was in a wheelchair. I recently had brunch at The Egg Cafe & Eatery in Tallahassee and had a fantastic experience. Despite it being a busy Saturday, my party of two was seated within 15 minutes. I felt the atmosphere was cozy and buzzing, like a busy cafe. My meal of eggs, potatoes, toast, and bacon was well-prepared, with my only gripe being that the potatoes were slightly lacking in flavor. A special mention must be made of their beautiful ceramic mugs! They were such a hit that I'm definitely planning on buying one on my next visit. I can confirm that our party enjoyed every single item we ordered, from the banana fosters french toast to the bacon avocado omelet, loaded grits, beignets, and bloody mary. In my opinion, this place serves the best breakfast in town! Everything was spot-on, from the immaculate service, ample parking, clean dining area to the excellent pricing. I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with a smile and given a choice of where to sit. My waiter, though new to the job, was polite, friendly, and provided excellent recommendations. I opted for eggs Benedict with sausage and a side of bacon, all of which were outstanding. The service was attentive, friendly and served with a smile. Furthermore, I love how they support local suppliers by using local sausage and coffee. The brie cheese appetizer I tried for the first time was divine. Adding honey on the bread that accompanied it elevated the dish to another level. This restaurant has undoubtedly become my go-to spot for breakfast/brunch, and I highly recommend it. The Egg Cafe & Eatery is a quaint breakfast spot that serves up quality food in an inviting setting. The signature coffee mugs added a charming touch to the overall experience. A heads up for first time visitors, you will need to use the nearby public parking garage as there isn't any street parking. I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood omelet and french toast. I also tried the turkey sausage with cinnamon french toast which was wonderful, but the blackberry grits didn't quite hit the mark for me. They were served cold and just didn't seem to fit the sweetness normally associated with grits. The staff could have been a bit more attentive, however, the quality of the food and beverages made up for it. The mimosas were delightful and the Seminole drink was truly a standout. We also ordered the eggs Benedict and banana French toast with apple sauce - both were delicious. The interior design added to the overall pleasant atmosphere and the staff was friendly. With the broadest breakfast menu I've ever encountered, the choices are endless. My personal recommendation is the personal trainer omelette. The homemade butter is a must-try. The Egg Cafe & Eatery quickly became a favorite spot of mine and I would happily give them a five-star rating.

I've had quite an experience with Maple Street Biscuit Company here in Tallahassee. Initially, the quality was mediocre and the service was quite disorganized, which was a huge turn-off for me. Their order precision was lacking, and there were times I noticed sketchy pricing. However, a recent visit completely changed my perspective. Apparently, the restaurant got a new GM, Mr. Kelly, who has turned things around significantly. The food quality is now exceptional, with my order being correct, hot and fresh, and the biscuit was just perfect - soft and flaky. The chicken biscuit with goat cheese and pepper jelly was fantastic, while the self-serve coffee was excellent. The response was quick, and the service has improved significantly, being faster and friendlier. The only potential issue was the noise, but if you plan to visit early, it's not such a big problem, really. Despite the noise, the overall atmosphere is quite charming and invigorating. Adding to this, the restaurant now has an interesting way of placing orders using the names of your favorite musician, though it might be a bit confusing at first. On the whole, the restaurant is now far from being the underperformer it once was. I am looking forward to my next brunch at Maple Street Biscuit Company, a big thumbs up to them.

Although the buzz from the street was a bit loud, enjoying my meal in the warm Tallahassee sun made up for it. I ordered a western burger and my partner a breakfast plate, but had to settle for hash browns when they ran out of biscuits. The food was a bit bland and needed a bit of dressing up with ketchup, hot sauce, and salt. Service wasn't the best as our waitress was nowhere to be seen after we received our food. I had a country-fried steak and eggs, which were delightful, and the blueberry pancake was just as good. Although the wait for food was long and the potato salad was not up to par, the place is a charming little spot that serves breakfast all day. My Cuban sandwich was cold by the time I started eating. Despite this, I think their Southwood location offers a far better dining experience and I'd highly recommend it for breakfast or brunch. I got to Madison Social on a Saturday morning right as they opened and was pleasantly surprised to find no wait for my large party of 7. The place was buzzing with a college vibe, given its location on FSU's campus. It was a bit loud for my grandma, but the rest of us loved the lively atmosphere. We were all impressed with the food - the Buffalo chicken salad was a crowd favorite and the pancakes were a delicious cookies and cream flavor. The breakfast Burrito was filled with fresh ingredients, but could've used more meat. The steak avocado Benny was another winner, though it was the priciest dish we ordered. We all agreed that the tater tots and French fries were outstanding. Getting around the restaurant was a bit tricky, with the wheelchair ramp located at the back and another entrance a block down on Madison. There were also stairs to navigate. I've been a regular at Madison Social for a few months now, and it's one of my favorite spots in town. The staff is consistently warm and friendly and I was excited to try their new menu items. The brisket burrito bowl is a standout dish, especially when paired with a passion fruit mojito. The BLT dip and burgers here are also highly recommended. The aptly named "So Classic Burger" was huge but cooked perfectly, and the Buffalo Chicken salad was equally impressive. The real star, however, was the South Street Philly which won over even our pickiest eater. I love sitting on the outdoor patio at Madison Social. My wife and I don't typically dine in the college area, but we decided to give it a go last week and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was chill, the staff was friendly, and we loved our meals. My goddess salad quickly became a new favorite, while my wife thoroughly enjoyed her burger. But it wasn't just the desserts that were on point - from the delightful mac and cheese appetizer to the perfectly cooked salmon main course, everything was just perfect. We even enjoyed our cocktails - mine, a curiously named "it's pronounced apri-cot", surprised me with different flavor profiles on each sip. The lunch meeting I attended was also quite delightful - the diverse menu offered many lunch specials and the delicious soup and salad combo left quite an impression on me. When the food arrived, the silence that fell over the table indicated that everyone was more than satisfied with their orders. One thing that requires some attention is the ambiance - a bit more decor might absorb some of the noise and I was surprised by the paper table coverings in such an upscale restaurant. The restaurant sits unassumingly, but believe me, it's worth every bit of your time. Despite the initial hesitation, I was assured they could whip something up - and it was excellent! Fresh, hot, beautifully presented, and just how I wanted it. Despite their being busy and somewhat understaffed, the service was impeccable. We were seated promptly, and even the Supervisor took the time to check in on us. Our waiter, Ryan, was a delight. Not only was he highly knowledgeable about the menu, but he also added a dash of humor and spirit to our meal - making it more than just brunch, it felt like an experience. The food was served quickly and tasted fresh. And the pies - they were truly a treat! I'm already looking forward to my next meal here. On a side note, I noticed some areas that needed attention - the window sill, carpet, and dividers were a tad dusty and could use some cleaning. A slightly leaking ceiling also caught my attention, but those are minor issues that can be easily fixed. Overall, Village Inn gave us a memorable brunch experience and I would definitely recommend it. The classic American diner atmosphere is a wonderful experience - my friends from Switzerland were thrilled, feeling like they were in a movie! The manager Kimberly, alongside Brian, Taylor, and Suzie are amazing. They are professional, courteous, and significantly enhance the dining experience. We specifically visit when they are on-duty, their presence making the experience that much better. The only let down is the poor seating selection we had on one occasion, but the goodness of the food and management outweigh this fault. Overall, Village Inn is a fantastic brunch spot that never fails to satisfy our cravings.

I've been to the Cracker Barrel Old County Store in Tallahassee multiple times and I've always had a pleasant experience. I love checking out their gift shop, it's always full of interesting items. Service was a bit slow and they seem to have forgotten some of our table's staples like muffins or biscuits. When they did bring them out, they were slightly burnt which was disappointing. They also ran out of chicken which was surprising. However, the service picked up and we were served our drinks timely. One thing I cannot forget to mention is their loaded sweet potato - it was just amazing. As for the rest of our meal, the chicken and dumplings were on point, though a few dumplings could have been cooked a little more. The fried apples were a hit at the table, so yummy.
