Marilynn's Place
4041 Fern Ave, Shreveport

Marlenis Adams
Had a fantastic brunch experience at Marilynn's Place in Shreveport. The Po Boy sandwiches caught my eye with their exceptional homemade remoulade sauce, a definite must-try item on the menu. While the beignets were enjoyable, they didn't quite capture the essence of New Orleans' offerings. The jambalaya was alright, though the consistency of the andouille sausage left something to be desired. However, the service more than made up for it, being both great and friendly. The culinary journey here made my taste buds dance with joy, especially when a kind individual made rounds at the tables, even surprising my son with a freshly made biscuit – talk about hospitality! Speaking of biscuits, they are simply heavenly here, striking the perfect balance between texture and flavor. My daughter's choice of boudin sausage with biscuits and gravy was so good, I joked about wanting to drink the gravy. Our family had a thoroughly enjoyable meal, and we're definitely keen on returning when we find ourselves back in the area. The value for money was also impressive; we spent around $52 for a meal for four, which felt very reasonable. I had a delightful gumbo that featured shrimp, sausage, and fish soup served over a bed of rice, which was surprisingly delectable. Both the staff attending the tables and the cook were incredibly friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. They offer this dessert, reminiscent of a deep-fried French toast, which was an absolute treat. It's not often I feel compelled to take photos of my food, but the visual appeal here was undeniable. The sense of community and quality here made me think of it more as a high-caliber diner. Sharing the bananas foster and beignets was a highlight, and judging by the looks of dishes served to others, everything seemed tempting. Even on a day described as 'slow' by the bartender, the place was buzzing, making the challenge of finding parking worth it. Honestly, it's rare for me to hand out five stars, but Marilynn's Place is genuinely deserving. The atmosphere, staff, and, most importantly, the food, are all top-notch. This spot is legit, and a local gem that surely won't disappoint.
Rhino Coffee Uptown

Came here early in the morning to grab some coffee after previously enjoying the downtown location, and the vibe here at Rhino Coffee Uptown for brunch in Shreveport is just so much more relaxed. The atmosphere in this renovated home is calm and welcoming, exactly what you need to start your day off right. The early morning crowd was quiet, and the staff was just awesome, making it feel like a beautiful coffee shop escape. Though parking seemed a bit tight, it looked like there was additional street parking available, which is convenient. Decided on a drip Colombian coffee with a splash of oat milk, and it was delightful - really tasty and at a great price point, with staff members being incredibly kind throughout the visit. The light-up menu on the wall caught my eye; it made choosing a drink so much easier. Even the bathrooms were impressively clean, which is always a plus in my book. For any coffee aficionado, this spot is a must-visit. The coffee here is superb - tried the Caramel Mocha and absolutely loved it. Although the storefront might seem small upon first glance, there's plenty of seating inside, making it a comfortable spot for any occasion. As a 25-year-old grad student, finding a spot that's conducive to both catching up with friends on a hot day and getting some work done is a win. The natural light and perfect seating arrangement here make for an ideal environment. The iced latte was the perfect balance of flavors, neither too sweet nor too bitter. With its inviting atmosphere and excellent drink options, Rhino Coffee Uptown is an ideal spot for both locals and visitors to Shreveport. It left such a good impression that a return visit the next day was a must.
Rhino Coffee Downtown
624 Texas St, Shreveport

I had the pleasure of brunch at Rhino Coffee Downtown in Shreveport and it was an experience worth sharing. The decor immediately sets a welcoming atmosphere, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee assured me I was in the right place. One of the highlights was their chocolate chip cookies - absolutely scrumptious! My friend Sam opted for the BBQ chicken flatbread which, unfortunately, didn't hit the mark for her due to the overly salty chicken and underwhelming sauce. However, my turkey sandwich, enhanced with added avocado, alongside a portion of chips was delicious and hit all the right notes for a satisfying meal. The staff here are notably friendly, making the slightly hipster vibe of the place feel all the more inviting. It's not just about the ambiance though; the efficiency caught my attention too. Placing an order online just before 7 a.m. and having it ready shortly after was impressive, setting a high bar for service standards. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's all metered downtown, but a little insider tip I discovered is to arrive before 8 a.m., as the parking charge isn't enforced until then. This spot is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Downtown Riverfront, surrounded by ample parking and even a theater on the same street, making it an ideal location for a day out. The indoor and outdoor seating options offer great flexibility, whether you're there to catch up on some work, enjoy a book, or simply savor the coffee and ambiance. During a road trip, stopping here on the recommendation of my boss turned out to be a highlight. She was right; skipping this local gem when passing through Shreveport would be a miss. Rhino Coffee Downtown shines not only because of its excellent grade coffee but also due to its clean, inviting space located in the charming old downtown area. Enjoying our food and treats in such a pleasant environment left us wishing for a Rhino Coffee closer to home. I've recommended it to others and look forward to returning. This place is a solid 10/10 on my list for anyone looking for quality coffee and a nice brunch spot in Shreveport.
Another Broken Egg Cafe
855 Pierremont Rd, Shreveport
(318) 865-1124
Missionary Ross
First time visiting Another Broken Egg Cafe in Shreveport for brunch, and what an experience it was! Right off the bat, we were greeted with free beignets - a delightful start. Our server, Jenny, was absolutely amazing, always attentive, ensuring our coffee cups were never empty, and offering fantastic suggestions like the city-style grits and Bourbon Street pancakes. The highlight of the visit had to be the new and temporary menu item, Lobster hash Benedict - absolute perfection on a plate that, in my opinion, definitely deserves a permanent spot on the menu. Choosing what to order was tough, as everything on the menu sounded incredible. Thankfully, another fantastic server, Baylee, helped guide my choice with her glowing recommendation of the Lobster hash Benedict. She was incredibly sweet, always making sure we had everything we needed, keeping our coffee cups full without even having to ask. The versatility of having breakfast either inside or outside on one of the patios makes it a perfect spot for any occasion, whether it’s a business meeting, a date, family outing, or even solo dining. The ambiance is just right. On a subsequent visit, looking for a nice breakfast spot before hitting the road, we were again pleasantly surprised. Opting to sit outside due to the beautiful weather proved to be a fabulous choice. Our waitress, Destiny, was outstanding, and the lemon blueberry mimosa along with the Irish spiked coffee were hits. We tried the Chicken and waffle with grits on the side, the sunrise scrambler, and the Mardi Gras omelette - all excellent choices. Although we arrived around 9ish and the place was quiet, it was packed by the time we left at 10:15. A testament to its popularity and great service. Consistently, every visit has been a pleasure with fantastic food. The welcoming atmosphere and quality service make it a go-to for breakfast. Having Kellie H as our server on several occasions has been a delight. She always ensures our meals are served promptly, cooked to perfection, and does so with a positively infectious attitude that significantly enhances the dining experience. Highly recommend Another Broken Egg Cafe for anyone in or visiting Shreveport looking for an exceptional breakfast or brunch spot. And if you’re lucky enough to have Kellie as your server, you’re in for a treat!
Strawn's Eat Shop
125 Kings Hwy, Shreveport
(318) 868-0634
William Syed
Come for the breakfast, stay for the pie! That's the best way to describe the experience at Strawn's Eat Shop, a place that truly warms the heart and satisfies the belly. Starting with the breakfast, the 2-meat omelet was simply overstuffed and utterly delicious, accompanied by a side of grits cooked to perfection. The highlight, for many, is always the pie. The chocolate pie was incredibly chocolaty and an absolute delight, while the banana pie was a fresh change from the usual, packed with perfectly ripe bananas and topped with a generous amount of whipped cream. It's hard not to rave about the biscuits as well—they were just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. What made the visit even more memorable was the service. The waitstaff are simply amazing, creating a welcoming atmosphere that complements the nostalgic vibe of the place. It feels like dining in a cozy home, with the added benefit of enjoying home-cooked meals that are both comforting and indulgent. The speed and friendliness of the service are remarkable, ensuring that every visit is worth every dime spent. And then there's the coconut pie, a must-try according to several locals, and they weren't wrong. It was the perfect sweet treat, with just the right balance of coconut flavor, not overwhelming but just enough to make every bite enjoyable. Even managed to take a chocolate pie to go, looking forward to savoring it later. Visiting family in Shreveport led to discovering this gem of a place for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. Everyone in the group, from the adults to the baby, found something to enjoy. The only slight regret was not getting there early enough to try their biscuits, which were sold out by the time of the visit. It's a testament to how good they must be, given they run out daily, but it's also a good reason to come back. After the meal, there was even time to explore the antique shop next door, adding a nice touch to a wonderful morning. Strawn's Eat Shop is definitely a place to return to, not just for the food but for the overall experience. It's a great find in Shreveport, promising that anyone who visits once will surely look forward to their next visit.
The Glass Hat Cafe
423 Crockett St, Shreveport
(318) 701-8177
George Garret
My experience at The Glass Hat Cafe for brunch in Shreveport was nothing short of delightful, even amidst the hustle and bustle of the Christmas week rush. Yes, there was a bit of a wait for our food—about 25 minutes—but it was clear that it was because they were cooking fresh, real food, not just reheating something pre-made. The staff was visibly hard at work, dashing around to ensure everyone's needs were met, which was understandable considering they were a bit short-handed. The interior vibe of the place is quite cool, nestled in the heart of downtown, and it's clear that the new management has brought a positive change, drawing in more patrons while managing to maintain a spacious, yet cozy atmosphere. The decor of the cafe has retained its beauty, contributing to an inviting ambiance, and every staff member encountered was pleasant and highly attentive. I was particularly impressed with the quality, generous portion sizes, and the pricing of the meals—they truly deserve an A+ in my book. Our server was exceptionally friendly and efficient, always on her toes, making sure we lacked for nothing and clearing our plates with such stealth we barely noticed. The menu options were a hit with my nephew raving about the French toast as the best he's ever had, while I indulged in the millionaire breakfast, leaving absolutely no room for disappointment. The waffle and bacon were noteworthy mentions. It's definitely a spot I'd recommend to anyone in downtown Shreveport looking for a stellar breakfast or lunch spot. This place won't let you down. During my initial visit, accompanied by my wife and a friend, we savored a homestyle lunch that was simply excellent, with the cornbread deserving a special shout-out. And yes, the retro aesthetic adds to the charm, although the acoustics can be a challenge due to the high ceilings. My most recent visit was for a breakfast meeting with a sizable group, and the private room with its spaciousness and central skylight added a special touch to our gathering. Ordering individually from the menu, rather than having a buffet or preset meals, allowed everyone to find something to their liking, and the server managed our large group with ease. After having dined here twice since its opening, it's evident that The Glass Hat Cafe is a gem in downtown Shreveport worth checking out, whether for a quick lunch or a leisurely breakfast. It's certainly a place I look forward to visiting again.
The Cotton Boll Grill

Stepping into The Cotton Boll Grill feels like discovering a hidden gem in Shreveport. This little diner, brimming with historical charm, offers an ambiance that’s both cozy and quaint. It’s the kind of place you’d want to go for a hearty brunch, especially if you’re looking for something beyond the typical breakfast fare. The toast and omelet here are simply the best. It's not often you find a place that can boast about cooking up such deliciousness. The sausage, pancakes, and grits were particularly noteworthy. It’s a rare art to cook grits to creamy perfection, but they’ve mastered it here. Adding to the experience, the backdrop of Motown music created a wonderfully nostalgic vibe. After a night at the casino, my wife and I decided to have brunch here, and it was a decision well made. The food wasn’t just good; it was outstanding and fresh. But what really set this experience apart was the service. The interaction between the server, cook, and even a random patron was filled with humor that you simply had to be there to enjoy. It’s this incredible, friendly, and warm service that you don’t see much these days. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Shreveport, The Cotton Boll Grill is a must-visit for brunch. It offers an experience that goes beyond just eating out. It’s a place where you’re welcomed, entertained, and fed with some of the best food in town. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to start their day right or to recover after a long night. You won’t be disappointed.
Strawn's Eat Shop Too
7803 Youree Dr, Shreveport

Michael Astudillo
My experience at Strawn's Eat Shop Too for brunch was truly delightful, and it lived up to its reputation, especially when it came to the pie and milk I had – both were exceptionally tasty. My cousin recommended the place, praising their strawberry ice box pie, and I must say, it did not disappoint. It had taken me a while to finally decide to visit Strawn's, despite several endorsements from friends, but I'm glad I did. The food was great, reasonably priced, and the service couldn't have been friendlier. Our server made a lasting impression with her outstanding service and kind manner. Even though we were a group of three, the service was the fastest we've experienced in a long time, lasting only about 30 minutes from start to finish. The sheer amount of food served could have easily extended our stay, showcasing their efficiency. My only minor feedback would be a preference for jelly with my toast and having the veggies cooked into my omelette. Despite these small details, I'd definitely come back and recommend Strawn's Eat Shop Too to others. Having been introduced to Strawn's by my wife, who grew up loving their famous strawberry pie just like her mother did, I had high expectations. Thanksgiving brought the perfect opportunity to bring two of their pies to a family gathering, and they were a hit, unequivocally the best pies I've ever tasted. This experience has inspired me to create a tradition of celebrating various holidays with a menu item from Strawn's, ensuring I have a reason to visit at least once a month. During a recent visit, however, the atmosphere seemed a bit off compared to my previous experiences. It seemed the staff, including our server, were not in the best of moods, which was a stark contrast to the excellent service I remembered. Despite this, the food remained delicious, and of course, the pie was the standout of our family dinner that evening. Strawn's continues to be a must-visit in Shreveport for their pies. The visit was generally okay, but I hope for a return to the warmer service I know and love.
UP FOR BRUNCH CAFE
1520 Texas Ave, Shreveport
(318) 703-2884
Rolando Chutz
Loved everything about UP FOR BRUNCH CAFE. The vibe, the service, the location – it was all spot on. Dropped in on a Saturday morning for a quick breakfast with family and they had something for everyone. The mimosas are fantastic with 3 flavors to choose from, which was a delightful surprise. We ordered a bit of everything from avocado toast to the pancake stack; nothing disappointed. It’s great that they offer both “health” conscious options and southern classic favorites. Absolutely a 10/10 and highly recommend. It’s a tucked away little gem that's very cute and has an urban feel. We got seated right away and the service was fast and friendly. The butter biscuit waffles are a must-try. The little one loved the scrambled eggs and cheesy grits, and we found the breakfast tacos delicious and the perfect amount of crispy! The breakfast skillet was great too. Those potatoes are just perfect! I'm eager to come back several times just to try everything on their menu! Despite sitting outside and it being a little loud next to the interstate, it didn’t detract from our experience at all. We’ll definitely be back soon. The service continued to impress across our visits. The food never disappointed. Even with the extensive variety we tried – from the brunch board for 2 to the chicken and waffles (cornbread waffle) and catfish and grits on different visits – everything was delicious, flavorful, and fresh. The service was always very friendly and quick. Enjoying our brunch out on their decorated pergola truly was a vibe.
First Watch

Osaze nan
Really enjoyed my brunch experience at First Watch in Shreveport. Despite it being busy, there was an option to sit outside when the weather permitted, which really added to the overall ambiance. The food, absolutely fantastic. The Million Dollar Bacon is something I still think about, and the fresh juices along with the iced coffee were perfect companions to the meal. The potatoes? Mouthwatering. Every dish we've tried has been spot-on, making this place a must-visit for brunch enthusiasts. Although there were a couple of hiccups during our visits, like our server seeming a bit distracted and the air conditioning not working at one point, these didn't detract from the delicious food and the environment. The Eggs Benedict was slightly overcooked on one occasion, and our waiter missed our request for a side of bacon, leaving a bit to be desired in terms of service. The atmosphere here is welcoming, with an open kitchen concept that, while slightly distracting for someone with ADHD, adds a vibrant energy to the place. One thing to note, though, is the distance of the handicap parking from the entrance, which could be a bit challenging for those with mobility issues. However, none of this would stop me from coming back or recommending First Watch to others. It feels like a unique blend of some of the best brunch places around, with a menu that impresses season after season. The avocado toast, in particular, was the best I've ever had. Despite the minor issues, the attentive staff and the delicious, well-thought-out menu make it a standout spot. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.
Waffle House
9217 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport
(318) 688-1794
Carl Queen
My girlfriend and I decided to try Waffle House for brunch in Shreveport, and honestly, we were pleasantly surprised! Initially, we had another spot in mind, but they hadn't opened for the day, and with my schedule being tight, Waffle House seemed like a convenient choice. Despite its simple appearance, both the service and the food were beyond satisfactory. We stuck with breakfast items, although it's worth noting that they offer lunch options all day. The portions were generous, the prices reasonable, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. My girlfriend's eggs over easy were just right, a rarity from our experience with other places where the eggs are often overcooked or burnt. My scrambled eggs were equally well-prepared. Midway through our meal, she decided to order a sandwich to go for later, which she reported was still delicious hours afterward. The only downside was the booth size, which was cozy for the two of us but would definitely be cramped if we had brought kids along. That said, we left feeling full, satisfied, and planning our next visit. Admittedly, there was a small mishap with something unwanted in my grits, and a replacement was quickly provided, albeit with a hair on the plate this time. Nevertheless, the server was empathetic and apologetic about the incidents. Despite this, it's worth mentioning that Waffle House has always been a reliable spot for a quick, reasonably priced meal. The atmosphere might be simple, but it's to be expected, and it doesn't diminish the overall dining experience. I've visited other locations in the past and have always been met with friendly service, although there was a slight hiccup here with initial acknowledgment upon entry. However, I believe in giving second chances and understand that not every visit can be perfect. Based on the majority of my experiences, I'll definitely continue to enjoy meals here. The food this time was satisfactory, although I've had better at another location. Nonetheless, I look forward to giving it another shot in the future, hoping for an even better experience.
Waffle House
3080 N Market St, Shreveport
(318) 675-1978
Ceddrick Strait
Having been a long-time patron of Waffle House for brunch in Shreveport, it's been a staple for those late nights after work or on days when the kitchen at home just doesn't see any action. The location on North Market has always been conveniently close, barely a five-minute drive from home, making it the perfect spot for a quick meal. The experience has typically been positive, with staff members who are cool and down to earth, making each visit enjoyable. However, an encounter with Brenda, one of the staff members, led to an unusual and rather disappointing experience. She was noticeably rude, ignoring me while favouring other customers, which was quite off-putting. On the contrary, Ariel, a gem of a staff member, was on her break when I approached her. Despite this, she took my order with such grace and kindness, showing what true customer service is about. Her willingness to serve, even during her break, truly saved the day and made the visit significantly better. One aspect that remains consistently impressive is the main cook's skills. Despite any service hiccups, the cooking quality has always been top-notch, offering that comforting and delicious meal one expects from Waffle House. While the overall cleanliness and professionalism of the North Market location could see some improvement, with particular attention to practices like handling money and food simultaneously, it's undeniable that the core of Waffle House – its food and some of its staff – still stands strong. Special shoutout to Ariel for turning a potentially negative experience into a positive one. Her exceptional service didn't go unnoticed and definitely deserves acknowledgment.
Southfield Grill-Jewella Avenue

Yolani Casanova
Stepping into Southfield Grill-Jewella Avenue was an experience that instantly made me feel welcomed and right at home. The unique greeting from both customers and staff set a warm and friendly atmosphere, unlike any other brunch spot in Shreveport. My waitress stood out with her attentiveness and familiarity with the patrons, calling everyone by name and making me feel like a part of the community from the get-go. The food was nothing short of delicious, offering generous portions that promised a true southern comfort meal. It’s clear why this place boasts about having the best waitresses in town; the customer service was exceptional, making every visit memorable. Every trip from Dallas to Shreveport necessitates a stop here for at least one meal, proving it's hands down one of the city’s culinary gems for anyone in search of an authentic home-cooked dish. Despite the chill in the air due to my anemia, the ambiance reminded me of a cozy, old-school cafe where the staff sincerely cares about their guests. It was a breathtaking first visit with meals that made a lasting impression – the grits and French toast were standout dishes that my fiancé and I absolutely loved. Even as of my last visit on Thursday, May 18, the outstanding service and food quality remained consistent, solidifying Southfield Grill-Jewella Avenue as a place that rivals any home-cooked meal. For anyone around the Bossier City area looking for a spot that serves breakfast and lunch with a hearty portion of warmth and hospitality, this is the spot. The best food experience that’s hard to find elsewhere, with no room for disappointment in their service or their meals.
IHOP

Heyzelu Rodriguez
My experience at IHOP in Shreveport for brunch was immensely enjoyable. Despite my previous reservations based on past experiences at other locations, this visit changed my perspective. This IHOP was bustling with activity yet maintained a level of efficiency and cleanliness that I hadn't seen before. It's always a pleasure to find a spot where the chocolate chip pancakes are fluffy and delightful, and that's exactly what I found here. My son is a huge fan of the Grand Slam, appreciating the variety it offers, while I couldn't get enough of the perfectly cooked grits. What stood out to me was how budget-friendly our meal was, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Even though the place was always busy, the staff managed everything so well that it never felt overwhelming or delayed. This wasn't our first time here, but with each visit, it seems to get better. We were greeted and seated promptly upon arriving, a contrast to some of my previous dining experiences. Despite seeing staff engaged in conversations amongst themselves, it didn't detract from the attentive service we received. On one particular visit, after some severe winter weather, the warmth and efficiency of the service were even more apparent. Despite the restaurant grappling with a main city water supply issue, we received excellent service. Our server, though busy, ensured our coffee cups were never empty and frequently checked in to see if we were enjoying our meals. This IHOP stands out not just for its food but for the remarkable cleanliness and the team's ability to run a busy restaurant efficiently. It's reassuring to have a go-to spot for late breakfasts where the quality and service are consistently high. The kindness and attentiveness of the staff here, despite being under pressure, made all the difference. It's clear that this location is well-managed, and it has certainly won me over for future visits.
RJ's
9124 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport
(318) 687-9612
April Rosson
Having lived in the River Cities area for a considerable amount of time, there were many culinary experiences that somehow slipped past my radar. On a whim, driven by a recommendation during a local errand, I discovered RJ's for brunch in Shreveport. This discovery was serendipitous, as it turned out to be the best breakfast experience in the area. The ambiance at RJ's is unpretentious, featuring diner-style comfort food that hits the spot without the need for overly trendy ingredients like avocado toast. The daily lunch specials are a tempting offer, and while I have ventured back during lunchtime, the allure of their breakfast keeps me hooked. The eggs, always cooked to perfection, and the country potatoes, crispy and satisfying, are highlights of a menu that prides itself on simple, well-executed dishes. The service generally seems more attentive to certain clientele, which I've observed during my visits. Despite being in mixed company, this slight inclination towards solo or paired older gentlemen hasn't diminished the overall experience, as the quality of the coffee (a robust, no-frills brew) and the food more than make up for it. On one occasion, moved by the quality of the meal, I made sure to tip the cook directly during her break, wanting to acknowledge the skill behind the meal. The menu also offers a real ham steak, a rarity that unfortunately doesn't come as part of a full breakfast deal, making it a pricier option for those wanting a more comprehensive plate. Nonetheless, the dinner experience doesn't disappoint, with generous portions and a homely feel that ensures satisfaction. Despite minor setbacks like bland homestyle fries or the occasional cold side dish, the charm of RJ's lies in its hearty meals and the sweet, attentive service that has made every visit memorable. While the pricing may be a tad higher than expected, nudging my overall rating just shy of perfect, the quality and consistency of the food, alongside the genuine warmth from the staff, cement RJ's as a must-visit spot in Shreveport. It's a place that beckons for repeat visits, each time leaving me eager to explore more of their menu, breakfast or otherwise.
Waffle House

This Waffle House is absolute fire 🔥. My waitress Ree, along with the entire staff, were warm and welcoming from the get-go. What sets this place apart is how the food is served - fresh and straight to your plate, no waiting under heat lamps for one hot and one cold dish like you might find elsewhere. And the coffee? Fresh af. Despite looking a tad exhausted, the cooks didn't let it dampen their spirits. They maintained a positive attitude and kept things moving at a fast, steady pace. It's a solid 10/10 recommendation from me. There's just something undeniably yummy about their waffles. Sitting at the counter, watching the cooks work their magic and interact is part of the charm. The servers call out orders in a way that's almost like watching a well-oiled machine, always delivering them correctly. It's impressive, really. Stepping into this Waffle House feels like stepping back in time to an original diner experience. Love Waffle House for all these reasons. It's not just about the food, but the whole vibe of the place that makes it a go-to spot for brunch in Shreveport.
Denny's

Eukjuke High
Decided to give Denny's in Shreveport a try for brunch and I'm really glad I did. Ordering through the app was a breeze, making the whole process smooth right from the start. Despite not being a fan of their bacon – and steering clear of the sausage based on past experiences – everything else on the menu did not disappoint. The orange juice was particularly refreshing, a highlight of the meal. Although initially, I wasn't overwhelmed, the quality of the food and the service quickly changed my mind. It turned out to be a meal worth remembering; halfway through, I even regretted not taking a photo to capture the moment. Definitely a five-star experience in hindsight. The friendly and prompt service stood out prominently. The staff made us feel welcome and attended to our needs efficiently, ensuring a delightful visit. An amusing moment was when our food was served with a bit too much enthusiasm – a minor spill was quickly overlooked thanks to the overall positive ambiance. Though I noticed some wear inside the building, it hardly detracted from the enjoyable experience. Particular shoutouts to Justin & Diamond, who went above and beyond in serving us. Their exceptional hospitality and pleasant demeanor showcased the best of what one could expect from Denny's. Their efforts made our brunch not just a meal, but a memorable experience. Despite a small hiccup with the hot plates, their professionalism shone through. In summary, the visit was a pleasant surprise. The quality food, coupled with top-notch service, made it clear that Denny's in Shreveport is doing something right. It's a place I'd recommend to others and definitely plan on returning to soon. Good food and friendly staff make for a winning combination, and that's exactly what we found here.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
6251 Westport Ave, Shreveport
(318) 688-6080
Tommy Aguilar
Stopped here for brunch in Shreveport and it was a delightful experience. Despite arriving during a busy time, the atmosphere in the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store was welcoming. The country store caught my eye with its neat arrangement and variety of items, making it a pleasant browse while waiting for a table. The cleanliness and fresh scent of the restrooms were noticeable, which is always a good sign. Although the restaurant was bustling, perhaps due to the Sunday church crowd winding down, the staff remained cheerful and attentive. Our server, in particular, impressed me with her politeness and smile, even as she navigated through the packed space. Our meals were served quicker than expected, arriving hot and flavorful. It's worth mentioning how the rolls and cornbread stood out as exceptionally tasty. However, there were a few hiccups with our order - the hamburger steak and loaded potatoes didn't meet expectations, and the chicken fried chicken was tougher than preferred. Despite these minor issues, the sides, specifically the mac and cheese and coleslaw, did not disappoint. The server apologized for any inconveniences, though it was clear that the mishaps were beyond her control. It's evident that the restaurant was having an off day regarding food quality and timing, which can happen to the best of places. In conclusion, while there were some aspects of the meal that didn't hit the mark, the positive attitude of the staff and the cozy atmosphere of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store made for an overall pleasant brunch experience. It's a reminder of the importance of service and ambiance in dining out.

Deciding to have brunch at Waffle House in Shreveport turned out to be a delightful experience, especially after an unfortunate attempt at another location earlier that morning around 2:30 AM. Despite the initial setback due to staffing issues at the first place we tried, the Pines Road Waffle House welcomed us with open arms. The staff there were incredibly accommodating and friendly, even though they were also short-staffed with only two employees. Their attitude made all the difference—kind greetings and efficient service set the tone for a great dining experience. Our group wasn't in a rush, and we were more than willing to be patient, which thankfully paid off at this Waffle House. It's a testament to how crucial good customer service is in making or breaking a dining experience. This spot on Pines Road truly understands that principle. From the warm welcome to the attentive service, they made us feel appreciated as customers. The food, as expected from Waffle House, was delicious. It’s always a comfort knowing that no matter where you go, their menu brings that familiar and comforting taste that many of us have come to love. Plus, the atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and made for a really enjoyable meal. Sharing laughs and jokes with the staff only added to the overall positive vibe of our brunch. Given this experience, it's clear that customer service and a friendly atmosphere make a world of difference. It's safe to say that I'll definitely be returning to this Waffle House location for more enjoyable meals in the future. It’s places like these that remind you of the importance of kindness and patience, both of which were abundantly displayed by the staff here, making our brunch not just a meal, but a truly pleasant experience.

During my visit to Iron Skillet in Shreveport for brunch, I had a truly enjoyable experience. For starters, the cleanliness of the bathrooms was impressive, especially for a truck stop restaurant. This detail added a lot of comfort to my visit. The food at Iron Skillet is the epitome of comfort food, hitting all the right notes whether you're in the mood for breakfast, which is served all day, or looking for something more suitable for lunch or dinner. Everything I've tried here has been satisfying and delicious, perfectly embodying that home-cooked feel that's so comforting and welcoming. Our server, Clemantanett, was particularly noteworthy for her attentive and cheerful service. She made the dining experience even more pleasant, proving that a friendly and efficient waitress can make all the difference in how a meal is enjoyed. While Iron Skillet might not be classified as a five-star dining establishment, it's certainly a top choice for anyone in search of good southern comfort food. The atmosphere is unpretentious, and the focus is squarely on providing hearty, tasty meals and friendly service. Even when there was a bit of a staff delay, and it took a little longer to get my silverware, the situation was handled well, and the quick, friendly service resumed. Not to forget, the portions here are generous, ensuring that you feel you're getting your money's worth with every visit. In summary, if you're looking for a place that offers great comfort food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Iron Skillet in Shreveport is definitely the spot to check out. It's a place that understands the value of good food and good people, making it a recommended stop for anyone in the area.
