Almost hesitant to share, wanting to keep this gem to myself to avoid longer waits for a table. Opted for the American breakfast, complete with extra crispy bacon, English muffin, home fries enhanced with onions and peppers, scrambled eggs, and a delightful mimosa flight to top it off. From the get-go, the atmosphere was welcoming, the hostess proficient and swift in her duties, impressively multitasking to ensure smooth operations. The staff, including the waitress, seemed genuinely happy to be there, creating a positive, energetic vibe. Service was prompt, with my water arriving shortly after being seated and tables being cleared efficiently. The food was a highlight, delicious and hearty to a point where I couldn’t finish it all. The effort to make the bacon extra crispy, just as I prefer, did not go unnoticed. Appreciation goes out to the management and staff for their exceptional customer service; it truly sets a standard. Also tried the pumpkin bread alongside eggs and turkey sausage on my next visit, and it was just as satisfying. Highly recommend this brunch spot for its ample parking, seating capacity, and great service. Even on a busy Wednesday morning, the experience was seamless, with attention to detail and care from the staff, including check-ins from personnel other than my designated server. A Saturday morning visit around 9:30 saw a bit of a wait, about 35-40 minutes, but the wait was worth it. Whether it was the blueberry pancakes that tasted unmistakably homemade or the omelet that left us more than satisfied, the only minor hiccup was a side of potatoes that could have used a bit more cooking. Nonetheless, the overall experience was delightful. For those who appreciate small, quaint spots with good food, arriving early is key as the crowd picks up around 8 a.m. The shrimp and grits I had were delicious, and the Moccachino (fingers crossed that's spelled correctly) was the perfect accompaniment. Despite the burgeoning crowd and the slight wait time, the overall experience was one to remember and recommend, warranting frequent visits.

Went here for brunch and absolutely fell in love with the place. It's a charming café with a friendly atmosphere, and the coffee hit just the right spot - not too sweet, exactly how I like it. The highlight, though, had to be the pastries. The Nutella-filled one was delightful, but the quesito and guayaba filled pastries stole the show for me. The pastry was flaky without being dry, and you could really taste the butter. Yum! We decided to stop by after lunch, just looking for a good coffee spot we noticed in the plaza. Although the service was a bit on the slow side, the staff was super friendly, so it didn't bother us at all. Ordered a white chocolate iced latte and another hot latte in a different flavor. Had a bit of a mix-up with the taste of one of the lattes, but it was an isolated incident. Aside from that little hiccup, the food was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, the place is clean and nicely decorated, and it just feels welcoming. My husband and I even played some dominos and Uno while we enjoyed our food - it was that kind of relaxed, homey vibe. The frappuccino, macchiato, and panini were all amazing. Service was top-notch as well. It's a great spot for anyone who enjoys coffee and prefers a peaceful environment to just soak in the moment. The prices are reasonable, and we're already planning our next visit. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality brunch spot in Newport News.

Stopping by Papou George's Hot Dogs for brunch in Newport News was an absolute delight. This spot is a fantastic hole-in-the-wall, family-owned lunch counter that exudes charm and warmth. Having been here a few times now for both breakfast and the occasional lunch or snack, I can say without a doubt that their hot dogs are fantastic. However, it's the house-made Greek sausage that truly steals the show for me. It's especially great in their 3-egg omelette, which comes packed with peppers, mushrooms, and onion – it's a must-try! One thing to note is that while the prices are really reasonable, it’s a cash-only establishment, so do come prepared. But don't worry if you forget; there’s an ATM on-site just in case. The chef also does a remarkable job with their country-fried steak, served with gravy, eggs, toast, and signature fried potatoes. It's comfort food done right, all served in a friendly, cafĂ©-styled setting that feels like it’s straight out of a movie. On a personal note, we chose this place to celebrate my mom's birthday and were looking for a good local spot for breakfast. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, making sure our experience was nothing short of wonderful. The food, from the biscuits and gravy to the pancakes and french toast, along with perfectly cooked bacon and eggs, left us more than satisfied. Honestly, everything tasted so good, and we will definitely be coming back again for breakfast. And I can't forget to mention, the soda here just tastes better than anywhere else. They somehow have the best coke around, which was just the cherry on top of a great dining experience. Despite being a cash-only place, don't let that deter you. The presence of an ATM in the back ensures you’re covered. Truly, it felt like being right at home. So, all in all, if you're in Newport News and looking for a cozy spot with excellent food and a warm atmosphere, Papou George's Hot Dogs is the place to go.

We went here for the first time for my husband's birthday, and it was an experience worth writing about. He ordered the Bistro Steak, and honestly, it was one of the most tender steaks we have ever had. Simply amazing. For myself, the corn and crab chowder caught my eye, and it did not disappoint, while our son opted for the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich. Despite it being a bit messy, the flavors and the tenderness of the chicken made it worthwhile. The service was exceptional, the food was delightful, and the prices were reasonable. We're definitely planning to come back. Additionally, I decided to try the quiche, which was decent, but after tasting the other dishes, I realized there were better options on the menu. On our visit, the atmosphere of the place stood out as beautifully designed, and the service was notably prompt. The fried green tomatoes I ordered had a lovely flavor, thanks to the pimento cheese topping, and they were generously sized. My husband's choice, the shrimp and grits, was interesting with its addition of sausage and peppers, though the preparation of the grits was unexpected. He enjoyed it, albeit mentioning he's had better. Our experience as a whole was thoroughly enjoyable. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff was superb. Although we found the food hot and fresh, a slight tweak in seasoning would have matched our taste preferences even more closely. For a family of five, spending about 165 seemed reasonable for the quality and service provided. Having visited 2nd Street American Bistro since 2018, it's clear the quality of food has remained consistent, even if the menu hasn't seen much change. Our latest visit was somewhat impulsive as we were in the area and decided to stop by for a late afternoon bite, coinciding with their Happy Hour. Unfortunately, the Happy Hour offerings seemed less appealing than in the past, particularly since no appetizers were discounted. Opting for the fried Brussels sprouts and onion rings left us a bit taken aback at the price point, feeling the increase wasn't entirely justified by inflation alone. While the reliability in food quality is something to appreciate, the lack of innovation or change in the menu might not suit everyone's preferences. On reflection, considering other dining options nearby might be worth exploring for our next outing. Nonetheless, the commitment to good service and a pleasant dining atmosphere at 2nd Street American Bistro keeps it on our list for future visits.

Having the opportunity to visit Sage Kitchen in Newport News was truly a memorable experience. Nestled within a beautifully arranged garden center that offers everything from charming gift shops to seasonal decor, it's a place that beckons for a leisurely visit. It's not every day you find a spot where your German Shepherds can happily tag along, exploring and enjoying the floral scents as much as you do. The employees here really go out of their way to assist, enhancing the overall atmosphere with their kindness and dedication. The cafe, Sage Kitchen, is a gem within this enchanting setting. Offering delicious food and a friendly staff, it stands out as a pet-friendly location, which is a huge plus for animal lovers like myself. With an outdoor seating area available when the weather is nice, it promises a delightful dining experience amidst nature. This place impressed with its fantastic culinary offerings - easily the best food enjoyed during a week's stay in Williamsburg. Both the store and restaurant staff were incredibly welcoming, creating a warm environment that speaks volumes about their passion for their work. During this visit, despite arriving about 20 minutes before closing time unaware, the experience was still outstanding. In a bit of a rush, a grilled cheese pesto with chips and a Reuben with fries were quickly ordered. Each dish was very good, suggesting the menu's quality is consistent across the board. It was clear that a more relaxed visit is warranted to fully savor the flavors without a time constraint. Sage Kitchen, along with the surrounding Anderson Gardening, presents an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in a few hours filled with imagination, gardening creativity, and delectable dining. The experience of dining at Sage, shared with family, was a testament to the café's ability to cater to varied tastes with finesse. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a well-rounded visit that combines the love for food with the appreciation of nature's beauty.

Monty's Penguin has been a neighborhood gem for years, and it's a place I keep coming back to for its good food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. It all started with their ice cream cones, which are incredibly generous in size, but I quickly grew to appreciate the variety of options on the menu. Every meal I've had here has been enjoyable, and it's a great spot to bring both friends and family for a cozy brunch experience. Despite a few hiccups in service and some dishes not meeting expectations, like a recent experience with a double cheeseburger that lacked seasoning and proper searing, there's still so much to love about Monty's. For instance, the country fried steak on my last visit was absolutely delicious. It's clear that every restaurant has its off days, but the overall positive atmosphere, along with the yummy, home-style food, keeps me coming back. The staff at Monty's has always been welcoming, contributing to the cozy feel of the place. Even when there have been issues, such as slow service or a dish not being up to par, the people there have been attentive and willing to address any concerns. This attitude makes all the difference and assures me that Monty's Penguin remains committed to providing a good dining experience. Despite any minor setbacks, my enthusiasm for Monty's hasn't waned. I'm definitely looking forward to my next brunch here.

This place is always wonderful 😊 Last week, had the pleasure of going twice! Each time, my food was delicious and the service was pleasant. My favorite is the Quinoa Power Breakfast ❀ Also tried the Egg Sandwich with Avocado, and it was very tasty. This review is based on Oct 22, 2023. Arrived at First Watch around 12:00 pm, thinking it would be less crowded since they close at 2. Wrong!! Ended up waiting for 45 minutes for a table for 2. Asked for the menu while waiting, not wanting to take even longer to decide on a meal. Was placed close to the kitchen, and the chairs were hard. Due to the narrow tables, it was a bit cramped. Our food arrived around 1:25 and, unfortunately, it was cold. Was disappointed because if a complaint was made, it would take even longer to get the food when already very hungry. Finally, mentioned it to the server, and she apologized and removed it from the order. The location isn't great, and the parking lot is a nightmare. For the popularity of this place, they definitely need more square footage and a better parking lot. Would not recommend going there very hungry because the wait time is insane. Despite that, the Parma Skillet Hash with eggs over easy on a different visit was impressive. The eggs were cooked perfectly though could have used more seasoning. The server was professional and polite, making a good impression. The restaurant itself was clean and well-lit, though the seating arrangement made it difficult to have a conversation. Overall, a good experience that is highly recommended. Enjoy!

Venturing into Waffle House in Newport News for brunch turned out to be an unexpectedly delightful experience, especially considering the circumstances surrounding my visit. The day started on a somber note, having just received news of my grandfather's passing, which left me emotionally distraught. However, the warmth and kindness shown by Chris, our server, alongside the entire staff, provided a much-needed comfort. There was a genuine sense of understanding and no judgment despite my emotional state, which was truly appreciated. Our meal was not only hot and flavorful but served promptly, hitting just the right spot. It was a testament to the efficiency and cleanliness of the establishment, impressive at any hour, but especially so early on a Sunday morning. This demonstrated their commitment to providing a positive dining experience, regardless of the time. Opting for a Philly hashbrown bowl and a classic Waffle House waffle for my first-ever experience at a Waffle House, I was thoroughly impressed. The staff, including Deona, who took our order, were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. My request for caramelized onions on the hashbrown bowl, though perhaps unusual for breakfast, was met with eagerness and resulted in a dish that exceeded my expectations. Special shoutouts to chefs DeWitt and Kord who showcased their culinary skills, making my first visit memorable. Their ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, coupled with the good music playing in the background, truly made the entire dining experience standout. In retrospect, visiting this Waffle House in Newport News was a decision I am incredibly grateful for. The combination of excellent food, courteous staff, and a clean environment contributed to a positive brunch experience that I won't soon forget. It's a place I wholeheartedly recommend and eagerly anticipate returning to whenever I'm in the area. The level of satisfaction from this particular visit was complete, confirming that great cooks and a pleasant wait staff are indeed a recipe for success.

Since discovering it last fall, it's become a regular haunt for me because it never fails to satisfy my cravings with its amazing food. They serve up HUGE portions at affordable prices, which is a win in my book. If you're ever in the mood for some seriously good food, you have to check this place out. Living just a block away for 2 years, it feels like all that time was wasted not knowing about it. The food is great, and I've been craving it ever since my first visit. My wife and I were very surprised by the quality of the food here; it's phenomenal. The menu is packed with a lot of options, and I can't wait to try more from them.

My visit to Vancostas Restaurant for brunch in Newport News was a pleasant surprise. This small, locally owned establishment offers a charming mix of Italian/American fare that hits the spot. The service added to the experience, with staff members who were nothing but welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Enjoying the pizza along with a simple, yet satisfying small salad kicked things off right. My grandson couldn’t get enough of the bacon cheeseburger, commenting on the generous helpings of real bacon. The Club Sandwich lived up to expectations, offering a classic taste that didn’t disappoint, and the shrimp basket was a highlight with its hefty portion size. Although the Italian dishes didn't entirely win me over, mainly due to the sauce's heavy texture that reminded me more of a canned variety, the desserts certainly made up for it. Both the carrot cake and chocolate meringue pie were outstanding. What's appealing about Vancostas is its affordability. Most entrees, complete with sides, are priced around the $10 mark, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food served. It's reassuring to see that this restaurant reopened after a change in property ownership, bringing along several improvements to the building and maintaining its friendly ambiance. The menu, albeit slightly reduced from its previous variety, still offers great options at unbeatable prices. It’s a place where diner food is presented without the inflated cost often seen elsewhere. From pizza to breakfast and even a gyro with fries for an incredibly low price, the selection is commendably diverse. Despite my overall positive experience, there’s no denying that the physical condition of the restaurant could use some serious attention. The cleanliness, particularly of the floors and some areas of the interior, certainly detracts from the otherwise enjoyable atmosphere. I hope the management takes note and addresses these issues because the quality and affordability of the food, combined with the friendly service, make it a spot worth visiting. A little makeover could go a long way in enhancing the overall dining experience at Vancostas. Nonetheless, for those looking to enjoy a decent meal without breaking the bank, this restaurant is certainly worth a try.

Had a lovely brunch at Panera Bread in Newport News! The service really stood out to me; the staff was incredibly accommodating, especially with my toddler who insists on paying for everything with cash. It's those small gestures that add a personal touch to the dining experience. The bread was freshly baked, just how I like it, and the cleanliness of the place, including the bathrooms, didn't go unnoticed. Plus, the cafe wasn’t crowded, making for a peaceful meal. Decided to give the Flat Bread Pizza a go for the first time, and it was a bit of a letdown – chewy and not quite what I expected for the price. The Chicken Noodle Soup was tasty but seemed to lack in quantity – more broth than substance. The sandwiches were delicious, although the presentation and the toughness of the bread could be improved. During my visit, there was a new employee at the register who was clearly putting in a lot of effort and had a very friendly demeanor, which definitely made the experience better. It was around 5 pm on 10/7/21, and despite the hustle, she managed to stand out with her service. However, the manager on duty seemed a bit off and wasn’t very engaging, which was a stark contrast to the warm service received at the counter. Also, had an issue with a delivery order earlier in the week that was swiftly resolved with a full refund, although a follow-up from the management would have been appreciated for a more personal touch in handling the situation. There were a few mishaps, like receiving the wrong dressing on a previous visit, which was a bit concerning given my allergies. Overall, despite a few hiccups with the food and some aspects of the service, the visit was a pleasant one, mainly because of the kind and trying staff member who made the day better. The location of this Panera Bread in Newport News is definitely convenient, and when you’re met with a smile, it makes all the difference.

Venturing into Eddie's for brunch in Newport News turned out to be a delightful experience that definitely exceeded my expectations. My visit to this spot wasn't my first. I've been coming here since my Navy days back in 1999, and it's heartening to see the quality of food and service has remained top-notch over the years. The morning hustle means you've got to be smart about your meal choices, especially if you're heading into the shipyard with only so much time to spare. Eddie's understands this rhythm all too well. Placing an order ahead of time is a savvy move since it can get quite busy in the morning. Despite the rush, they manage to maintain a smooth operation, ensuring you get your food fast without a compromise on quality. On my last visit, around 10:30 am, the place wasn’t crowded, which worked in my favor. Deciding what to eat was a breeze, and I appreciated the swift service that followed. Opting for a double bacon burger with fries, a drink, and some mozzarella sticks for sides felt like a substantial meal. All this came to about $15, which I found reasonable given the quality and quantity of food served. The burger itself was hearty, although there's a bit of room for improvement in its preparation. Despite this minor point, the overall meal was satisfying and testament to Eddie's commitment to delivering good food. What makes Eddie's stand out, beyond the food, is the vibe of the place itself. It's a testament to how a restaurant can grow with its community while keeping standards high. This consistent dedication to quality food and service is why I always look forward to my meals here. It's a reminder of the good old days and how some things, thankfully, don't change.

My daughter and I have a tradition of meeting up at Waffle House in Newport News when she gets off work at midnight. It's become our special spot for late-night brunches, and one of the reasons we keep coming back is the incredible late shift crew. There's a lady there who's been with Waffle House for almost 30 years - she's absolutely phenomenal. Not only is she a joy to interact with, but her cooking is top-notch too. Then there are the two guys on the night crew who play music while they cook; they really create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. Waffle House, to me, is exactly what breakfast should be. The food sizzles right on the griddle, and the service is consistently good, keeping our coffee cups hot and full. Yes, there's usually a wait, especially in the morning, but it's a small price to pay for the quality and experience they offer. For those who aren't fans of the wait or the bustling environment, I'd say it's best to find another spot. But if you're like me and you appreciate your hash browns cooked just the way you like them, then this is the place to be. Plus, they have what I'd call a million-dollar server – you can't put a price on the kind of service that makes you feel right at home. The affordability is a huge plus, especially considering how prices are skyrocketing everywhere these days. I opted for a veggie omelet during our last visit, and it was delicious. The waitress was incredibly attentive and made our dining experience even more pleasant. Despite the additional fees for to-go orders, which I found a bit surprising, the overall experience keeps me coming back. Sure, no place is perfect, and mistakes happen, but the warmth and consistency of Waffle House in Newport News make it a solid choice for anyone looking for a hearty meal and a welcoming atmosphere, any time of the day or night.

After hearing rave reviews from friends, our expectations were high, and I'm happy to say we weren't disappointed. Right from the start, the service stood out. Even though it seems some experiences here can vary, we found the staff to be attentive and efficient, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The food was another highlight. Both the portion sizes and the quality of the dishes were impressive. The prices felt very reasonable for what we got, which is always a nice bonus. We're already making plans to return and work our way through more of the menu! The atmosphere of the place was quite welcoming. Being next to a golf course, the restaurant offered both indoor and covered outdoor seating, which seemed like it would be particularly pleasant in cooler weather. The process of reserving a table online was straightforward and convenient, and despite the restaurant not being overly busy when we arrived, it was nice to know we had a table waiting for us. Dress code seemed casual, with a mix of attire among the patrons, but nothing too strict seemed to be enforced. This laid-back vibe contributed to the overall relaxing atmosphere of our brunch. As for the food itself, it was generally well-received. The vegan Cherry Lemonade French Toast caught our eye and did not disappoint with its unique preparation and flavors, though the vegan patties could use a bit of tweaking. The Big-scuits & gravy, while generous in size, fell a bit short in terms of flavor. However, the breakfast tacos and the shrimp and grits were both satisfying dishes, with the latter standing out as a favorite. Service had its ups and downs. While there seemed to be some challenges with staffing and wait times, our server, Ajada, was exceptionally sweet and attentive, making sure our experience was as pleasant as possible. The almond espresso latte and lavender lemonade were both delightful additions to our meal, rounding off the brunch nicely. In summary, our brunch at NEST Kitchen & Taphouse was a positive experience, fueled by tasty food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. It's definitely a spot worth returning to, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying brunch outing in Newport News.

It's quick and consistent, you don't have to worry about too much change. That's what keeps me coming back. However, during my first visit, the atmosphere took a hit with an uncomfortable situation involving staff behavior that was not addressed as it should have been. It was disappointing to see and certainly something that needs better management attention. On another note, there was an issue with an order not being completely served due to limited kitchen equipment, which led to a less than satisfying dining experience. It seemed there was a lack of care when it came to ensuring customers received their complete orders in a timely manner, especially when dining in. Despite these hiccups, Waffle House generally offers a consistent experience for breakfast foods at any time of the day. This location lives up to that, with food that arrives promptly and is prepared as requested. The staff does an admirable job managing the flow of guests, ensuring tables are quickly ready for the next diners, and coffee cups are never left empty. It's the kind of service that makes one overlook the minor faults and appreciate the overall reliability and quality of the food and experience. It's clear this place offers the best value for your money. The only downside was the restroom facilities – they could definitely use a refresh and better maintenance. Aside from that minor hiccup, the experience was delightful. Didn't venture into their lunch or dinner options, but the menu seemed promising with a variety of choices. One heads-up for future visitors: the parking lot is a bit on the smaller side, so it might be packed due to the restaurant's popularity. The vibe inside is so welcoming, very much reflective of its local ownership. Everyone working there was genuinely friendly, and the homemade food hit just the right spot – it's not every day you come across a place that serves breakfast all day, in such a clean and inviting setting. It's heartwarming to see a family-friendly spot that's clearly a favorite among the locals. Kudos to the owners for maintaining both the exterior and interior so well, it definitely adds to the charm. On my visit, there was a slight mix-up with the bill, but it was swiftly and gracefully handled by the owner, who made sure everything was corrected. It's gestures like these that really show how much they value their customers. Truly, Warwick Restaurant is a gem, with an atmosphere that's hard to find these days. We haven't visited IHOP in quite a bit, but it always feels like a comforting choice, especially when far from home. On this occasion, we chose the location on Warwick Blvd in Newport News due to its high ratings, and honestly, it didn't disappoint. Our meal consisted of a breakfast sampler, a short stack, chocolate chip pancakes, and warm beverages like hot chocolate and coffee - all of which were cooked just right. Our waitress, Shavonne, provided commendable service, making our dining experience quite enjoyable. However, the standout moment came after a chilly visit to Christmas Town when we discovered that the restaurant had closed its indoor seating. The manager, Kia, greeted us with such warmth and hospitality, offering to quickly prepare hot chocolates for our group. Both she and Samantha were incredibly kind, bringing our orders out with smiles and well-wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving. In a world where good customer service can sometimes feel rare, their efforts really stood out, leaving a lasting impression on us and especially on my 11-year-old, who remarked it was his favorite part of the day. Their accommodating nature turned a potential disappointment into a memorable moment. Although there was a bit of a wait for our food, longer than expected, overall, the visit was marked by exceptional staff. The tall gentleman in the Cowboys jersey, whose name escapes me, was another highlight - efficient, attentive, and friendly. It's apparent that this family-owned location values customer satisfaction and it shines through their staff's attitudes and service quality. The food was spot on, and despite the hiccup with the wait time, the positive interactions with the staff more than made up for it. It's experiences like these that remind us of the importance of excellent customer service and human kindness. Heartfelt thanks to IHOP, Kia, Samantha, and the entire team - we're eager to return for a full meal in the near future. The staff's phenomenal effort truly made our day!

It's nice to take a break from the kitchen every few years, avoiding the hassle of cooking and the mountain of dishes afterward. The service here is nothing short of amazing. The staff really go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. It’s clear they put in extra effort to make their customers feel comfortable and taken care of. However, it’s wise to check the takeout order before leaving. There have been a couple of instances where parts of the curbside orders were missing, like the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken without their gravy, which is quite essential to those dishes. Also missed were the corn muffins, which is a big deal since I can't have buttermilk biscuits due to an allergy. The only downside is having to make the trip back to pick up what was missed, which isn't ideal. Despite this, the quality of the food when everything is in order is fantastic. For example, the grilled maple bacon chicken was cooked to perfection! And while typically I'd rather not go into the store to pick up orders, Cracker Barrel makes it an exception. With all the cool items they have, it's a treat to browse around. A standout during the visit was Justin. His hospitality and energy were off the charts. He truly made the experience memorable with his willingness to help and positive attitude. It's people like him that make you look forward to coming back.

Having brunch at IHOP in Newport News was a delightful experience. Maybe it's the breath of fresh air in the workforce or just the day I visited, but everything seemed to flow seamlessly. Despite a previous experience that left much to be desired, this visit completely changed my perspective. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us with warmth, quickly seating us without delay. It was noticeable right off the bat that the staff was moving with purpose and efficiency. The server promptly took our drink orders, setting the tone for excellent service throughout our meal. The menu seemed to have expanded since my last visit, offering a variety of new dishes, all at very reasonable prices. Opting for the eggs Benedict and pancakes, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything tasted. My partner had the omelette, which she found equally tasty. It's worth mentioning that the place had a fresh, remodeled look, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. Service was swift, with our server being exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring our order was exactly as we wanted. The food arrived hot, a testament to the kitchen’s efficiency, and tasted fantastic. The french toast, eggs, sausage, and crepes made for a hearty, satisfying breakfast. The coffee, too, was remarkable, rounding off the meal perfectly. Even though it was the day after Christmas and the restaurant was operating with a reduced staff, the level of service didn't falter. The hostess, kitchen, and servers worked in harmony, ensuring all customers were happy and well-served. Our meal was thoroughly enjoyable, from start to finish. This visit truly renewed my faith in IHOP, demonstrating that great service and delicious food are at the heart of what they do. It was evident that everyone was striving to provide the best experience possible, from the kitchen staff to our amazing server, who deserved every bit of the generous tip left in appreciation. Reflecting on the experience, it's clear that IHOP in Newport News is a prime example of how to run a restaurant smoothly, even under potentially stressful conditions like holiday staffing challenges. It was a reminder of how enjoyable dining out can be when everything falls into place - great service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. All in all, a highly recommended spot for a satisfying brunch.
