The Brunch Love Index playfully ranks 37 U.S. cities based on their dedication to everyone's favorite weekend meal. And the winner is...
drumroll.... San Jose, California!
This city comes out on top with a whopping 12.2 brunch places per 10,000 residents. Hot on San Jose's heels are Mesa, Arizona, with 9.9 and Fort Worth, Texas, with 8.9. California, Texas, and the Southwest dominate the top ten list, with Washington, D.C., and Boston, Massachusetts, being the only exceptions. On the flip side, El Paso, Texas, ranks last with a mere 1.0 brunch place per 10,000 people.
Big shoutout to Los Angeles (2,500), New York (2,200), and Chicago (1,100) for having the highest number of brunch places overall. Meanwhile, cities with the fewest brunch spots include Fresno (77), El Paso (71), and Memphis (94).

Methodology
Our scrumptious search for brunch-loving cities began by examining the 331 incorporated places in the United States, excluding U.S. territories, as of July 1, 2021, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. We then consulted the Yelp API to count the number of brunch spots in each location. To keep our study focused, we narrowed our list to cities with a population of 500,000 or more. The result? A mouthwatering map of America's brunch capitals, ripe for exploration!
